It's the first Christmas in Hong Kong for the Armani Bar and to celebrate the event the restaurant and bar is donating 8 per cent of its sales during December to Operation Santa Claus. So a karaoke night with Credit Suisse First Boston was a double success for the OSC campaign, with the funds coming in from the finance house and 8 per cent from how much the bankers and lawyers drank, which could have been quite a lot. 'We opened in April, so it's the first Christmas for the bar, so we want to contribute to the less fortunate people in Hong Kong,' an Armani representative said. The ultra-chic establishment is the first Armani Bar in the world. 'There didn't appear to be many restaurants taking part in Operation Santa Claus, so with this gesture we wanted to lead the way,' the spokeswoman said. 'We want to inspire some other restaurants to take part. The 8 per cent is for everything. So if you come for a meal, of if you just come for a cup of tea, 8 per cent goes to the campaign. 'This is our way of giving back to Hong Kong to celebrate our first Christmas here.' To add to the festive cheer and to encourage people to wine and dine generously at the bar throughout December, patrons will be offered a glass of complimentary Piper-Heidsieck champagne during dinner from Monday to Saturday. DJ Norman Jay will be flying in for an evening at the bar on December 22.
