Three-time games veteran Angie Tsang has realised her dream of winning a wushu medal at her last Asiad. The Hong Kong policewoman clinched silver in the women's nanquan (three events combined) at the Aspire Hall yesterday, with her best-ever performance in the final routine - southern broadsword.

'I have won medals in all the other international events I have taken part in - and now I have cracked the big one,' said the 28-year-old, who scored a total of 28.59 points in three routines, including a 9.7 in the final round where she came first. 'This is a perfect ending to my international career. I have been in the sport for more than 10 years and it's time to call it a day. There are many up-and-coming athletes in the team who are ready to take over.'

China's Ma Yaqi, the reigning world champion, won comfortably on 29.29, while Diana Bong Siong Lin of Malaysia was third with 28.28.

In the men's nanquan three events combined, Hong Kong's He Jingde missed a bronze medal by a mere 0.05 points. He finished second with a 9.73 in the final southern style cudgel yesterday, but his combined score of 29.00 was still not enough to earn a medal.
