For the price of a half-decent suit, a tour operator in Bangkok is offering a four-day vacation to Hong Kong Disneyland, including round-trip airfare, accommodation and two days at the theme park.
The package offered by GSM Tours costs just 9,900 baht (HK$2,195) and is billed as 'Big Fun, Pay Lite'. With taxes, the round-trip costs about 12,000 baht.
The package, which has featured daily departures, was launched last month and ends on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the theme park said the deal had taken advantage of a special 'Stay and Play' promotion that offered hotel guests two days' of admission to the park for the price of one. Tickets for adults cost between HK$295 and HK$350. Travel companies could package promotional offers as they wish, he said.
But the spokesman said he believed the offer must include just one night at the theme park's Hollywood Hotel, with the remaining two nights at another hotel in the city. That would account for the package's low price.
But the travel company says guests stay in a garden-view room at the Hollywood Hotel for three nights and receive admission to the park for two days. The package includes transport between the hotel and the airport, and a return flight with Orient Thai Airlines.
