Worth the extra cost
I WANTED to write on behalf of all of us who do want an extra five minutes as we pass to and from work each day by virtue of the newly-created Autopass system.
Ten minutes a day total saved, or 60 minutes a week. I'm not sure about the writer who questions the value of extra time in Hong Kong (South China Morning Post, December 27), but I know that I certainly can better use an extra hour a week rather than in a car.
I congratulate the Cross Harbour Tunnel Management for recognising the fact that unfortunately in life there exist queue jumpers and rip-off artists out to cheat any innocent victim.
The fact that there are now spotters or tunnel staff watching the Autopass lane for unauthorised (or should I say unqualified) cars from driving through at others' expense, demonstrates a commitment to service and credibility.
Keep up the great work, it's worth the extra cost.
