The Beijing venue cost US$1.9 million to develop and, like its sister bars, is tastefully decorated with antiques and furniture from around Southeast Asia. Occupying a tastefully converted school building, it has two excellent Thai and Indian restaurants and attracts an older, moneyed crowd. If only they would drop that un-Beijing like custom of adding a 10 per cent service charge. The Philippe Starck-designed interior (left) is madcap. Expect this to be Beijing's No1 destination when night falls. This is their third venue in three years as previous bars were demolished, but fans don't seem to mind the changes of address: they have followed the duo to this cute little bar with its innovative and affordable cocktails. A converted government building near Houhai Lake, it boasts leather lounges, a good upbeat music policy and giant marble bar.
