This diminutive portable hard disk drive packs a massive amount of storage capacity. Available in 60GB to 160GB models, Maxtor's OneTouch III Mini measures only 13.3cm x 9cm, and is a mere 2cm thick. With the 160GB model, you can store more than 123,000 photos, some 11 hours of high quality video and more than three months' worth of music downloads. But extending the storage capacity of your computer is only one function of the OneTouch III Mini. As most computer users know, backing up important data is just as crucial as finding a place to store it. To address this need, Maxtor has incorporated automated backup scheduling features into the OneTouch III Mini. The backup software not only backs up the files on your PC, but also allows you to restore your entire system to a previous state - like Windows' built-in 'systems restore' function, but on a separate drive. Another neat trick of the OneTouch III Mini is its data sync function, which allows you to synchronise data between two computers. The unit also comes with two layers of security, which password-protects the drive, and encrypts the data on the drive, to prevent prying eyes from accessing a user's data.
