Liu Shui-ping, a three-year-old patient at the Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital in Sandy Bay, Pok Fu Lam, receives  a special Christmas gift yesterday - a visit by 'dog doctor' Billy  at the hospital's annual Christmas party.

About 100  patients and their families enjoyed the special day, during which pain and illness is forgotten and young faces shine with smiles as bright as Christmas tree lights.

Along with a visit from Santa Claus, bearing a sack full of presents, partygoers celebrated by performing in shows and playing games. And all shared the same Christmas wish -  a speedy recovery for the young patients.
