It's time to wave 2006 goodbye and say 'Whassup!' to the New Year. As we begin anew with the new 007 - the year two-007 that is - it's worthwhile to take stock of the new start and set some goals for ourselves. As motivation, we asked around for New Year's resolutions and here is what some of our favourite high-profile personalities hope to achieve in the new calendar. Douglas Young Chi-chiu co-founder of G.O.D. 'It's been 10 years since I started my design/retail business. Over the years, I have collected a lot of Hong Kong memorabilia and photographs, and they have been my inspiration for G.O.D. I have been wanting to compile everything into a book, together with my thoughts. But as I am so busy, the project is still pending. So hopefully, in 2007, I shall get around to doing this.' Jessica Suen actress 'My New Year resolution is to seek out and, where I can, help those smaller charities in Hong Kong which people don't know about or don't get the attention or recognition of the public or by corporate foundations. I don't just want to participate as a celebrity spokesman, but rather, as an ordinary Hong Kong person. Hopefully, I can use my contacts to help out those less fortunate people because that's the least that I can do. One of my activities is to assist the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) to find donations and create public awareness. I have five dogs at home and two were abandoned dogs which my dad or I picked up on the streets. I plan to participate in the SAA animal sponsorship scheme and my target is to sponsor five animals on a monthly basis.' Yip Wing-sie music director, Hong Kong Sinfonietta 'I'd like to have more free time to play a few rounds of golf on my favourite course and go hiking. Having this time to myself will enable me to stay fresh and bring even greater music to my audience!' Wyman Wong Wai-man lyricist/TV host 'I hope to hop on the new A380 Airbus [the largest commercial plane ever built] which will make its debut flight this October. I've always loved commercial planes, and not just looking at the exteriors. I like to check out all the in-flight services and the interior, you know, the whole package. The A380 is kind of awkward looking, but I am sure it will be very comfortable inside.'
