Employees of Asia's richest woman, Nina Wang Kung Yu-sum, have dismissed rumours that she is critically ill.
Media reports have said she has ovarian cancer that has spread to her liver and other organs.
George Kuk Hin-fai, hotel division director of the Chinachem Group, said the chairwoman, who turns 70 next year, reported to work at head office yesterday.
Over the weekend, Mrs Wang also celebrated Christmas at a Chinachem hotel in Causeway Bay, Mr Kuk added, saying: 'She and her relatives and friends had turkey dinner.'
Local media reported that Mrs Wang was recently admitted to Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital in Happy Valley for chemotherapy for what was said to be ovarian cancer.
In October, she won an eight-year legal battle against her father-in-law, Wang Din-shin, allowing her to take control of her late husband Teddy Wang Teh-huei's HK$24 billion Chinachem empire.
Another of her employees described the press reports as 'totally out of proportion'.
