A lot has happened in the past 12 months - we've trawled through our files to dig out the good, the bad and the silly.

We would like to say thanks to all the teenagers who got involved with Sunday Young Post over the last year, either through Top Teen,  the competitions or just by writing to us about what you think. We love hearing from you at syp@scmp.com.

Movies:

Best - She's the Man.  A contemporary version of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night with a football twist. Starring comedian and former Nickelodeon host Amanda Bynes, it offers hilarious moments and gags related to adolescent romance.

Worst - Ghost Train.  A predictable Japanese horror movie  about a high school student searching for her sister who has disappeared. The plot is poorly constructed and  lacks imagination. Even teen pop idol Erika Sawajiri can't save it.

Gigs:

Best - Black Eyed Peas. The hip hop heroes wowed fans with incredible amounts of flashy bling and kung fu dances in their 90-minute, adrenaline-high debut concert in Hong Kong.  Excitement peaked when the group belted out club-favourite My Humps as a giant monkey-head balloon was inflated onstage.

Worst - Robbie Williams. The former Take That singer disappointed Hong Kong fans as he cancelled the Asian leg of his world tour due to 'stress and exhaustion'. We wish him good health in 2007.

CDs:

Best - Lily Allen's Alright, Still. Shooting to fame on teen-oriented website myspace.com, the sassy pop princess oozes attitude  on her debut album. With songs about the highs and lows of growing up in London, it's loaded with addictive choruses and grooves.

Worst - Jessica Simpson's A Public Affair. Like  her pretty but unremarkable face,  Simpson's songs  lack character. The album proves that she's more  Barbie doll  than real singer.

Fashion:

In - Leggings. This 1980s retro fashion item is all the rage in the fashion world.  They've shown up everywhere from supermodels in runway shows  to young girls in Mong Kok.

Out - Platform shoes. They may still be hot in Tokyo's Harajuku, but not in Hong Kong. Wear them only  if you're  auditioning for Saturday Night Fever.

Celebrities:

Best - Stephen Hawking. The superstar scientist's whirlwind visit to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in June created a flurry of excitement.  He drew a 1,800-strong crowd to the lecture to hear  his theories on space, time and the origin of the universe.

Worst - Bus Uncle. The infamous middle-aged man's angry outburst at a hapless young man on  a bus was captured on a mobile phone camera by a teenager who posted the footage on YouTube. The clip attracted more than  a million hits and became one of YouTube's most viewed items in 2006.

Celebrity animals:

Horses - They're hot in Hong Kong as the SAR prepares to host the 2008 Olympic equestrian events.

Frogs - Sergeant Keroro is an amusing alien frog, the main character from a Japanese manga series. His plan to take over the world is sidetracked by his earthly hobbies, such as building Gundam Robot models and surfing the internet.

Penguins - The young emperor penguin in computer-animated comedy Happy Feet can neither sing, nor find a date. But he teaches us the importance of accepting other people's differences through tap dancing.
