man, 41, collapses and dies after hike on lantau
A 41-year-old man collapsed while hiking on Lantau and later died in hospital. The hiker, surnamed Yip, was tackling Lantau Peak. He had walked from Tung Chung with 20 other hikers but fell sick at stage five of the Lantau Trail at about 11.50am. He was taken by helicopter to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan, where he was declared dead at 1.22pm.

The four-year-old daughter of western expats died last night after falling from a window at the family's home at Regalia Bay, Wong Ma Kok Road, Stanley. She was taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and certified dead at 8.39pm. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

About 40 SoHo flat owners and tenants protested against the Urban Renewal Authority for failing to bring properties around the intersection of Staunton and Wing Lee streets and the areas around Graham Street and Peel Street under redevelopment. Led by Central and Western district councillors Kam Nai-wai, Cheng Lai-king and Yuen Bun-keung, they demanded immediate relocation and compensation for land they said had been zoned for redevelopment years ago and could not be sold.
