Eight injured after minibus crash Eight people were slightly injured when a minibus crashed into a construction site in Kwun Tong yesterday. The accident happened at 8am when the minibus was travelling on Kwun Tong Road near Amoy Gardens. The 26-year-old driver said he lost control of the vehicle when he swerved to avoid hitting another minibus which cut in front of him. The driver and seven passengers were taken to United Christian Hospital, where they were treated and discharged. Gang attacks new year reveller in tai po pub A 46-year-old man was attacked by about seven men after celebrating the New Year with his friends in a Tai Po pub last night. Police said the man was attacked about 5am as he was about to leave the pub on Wan Tau Street. His wife was in the restroom. He was in Prince of Wales Hospital in serious condition. Police are investigating. Three paramedics hurt in ambulance crash Three ambulancemen were slightly injured when their vehicle crashed into a road barrier in Yuen Long. Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle as it was heading to Tuen Mun shortly before 7am. Another ambulance was sent to the scene and the three were taken to Tuen Mun Hospital, where they were treated and discharged. lantau cable car suffers intermittent disruptions Service at the Ngong Ping Skyrail cable car was intermittently disrupted yesterday afternoon after the operating system detected that two cars were too close. The disruption started at 3.52pm and was not fully resolved until 5.19pm although the cable car system was still in service. The disruption left nearly 1,000 people waiting in line, with some complaining they had to queue up for almost two hours. kitchen blaze in stall A fire broke out in the kitchen of a food stall in Tai Wo Hau. The blaze, on the second floor of Tai Wo Hau Estate Commercial Centre, was put out by firefighters in 30 minutes. No one was injured.
