About 100 work riders will strike against the Jockey Club, but no date has yet been decided. The Horse Racing (Local) Association said the riders were upset by the latest rise in their race day allowance, from HK$202 to HK$350 for races at Sha Tin and HK$550 at Happy Valley. They also denounced the club for bypassing the union by informing them in letters. The club found the union's claims 'unacceptable' and may take action.
