When Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen set out to improve the fung shui at Government House, little did he expect that photos of his bedroom would be shared with the people of Hong Kong.

Mr Tsang, who spent HK$300,000 on a fung shui fish pond for his pet koi at his official residence, suffered a blow to his privacy yesterday when the Chinese-language Apple Daily published photos of the interior of his home - taken from a DVD allegedly supplied by his fung shui master.

Pictures included one of the Tsangs' bedroom, with a crucifix hanging next to a double bed with several framed photographs above. Mr Tsang and his wife, Selina Tsang Pou Siu-mei, are devout Catholics who attend Mass daily.

The Chief Executive's Office would not confirm whether Mr Tsang engaged a fung shui master - believed to have recorded the DVD that was sent to the newspaper - to give advice on bringing good luck.

A spokeswoman for his office would only say: 'The renovation cost of Government House did not involve fung shui consultancy.'

The government spent over HK$14 million on renovations before the Tsangs moved in last year.
