A leading jewellery retailer seeks a public relations specialist who thoroughly understands how to act as a representative of the company and cultivate the brand image. Luk Fook Holdings (International) sources, designs and retails gold jewellery, ornaments, gem-set jewellery, gemstones and accessories. The company needs a corporate affairs/public relations officer to co-ordinate company visits, press releases, special events and media interviews. 'Our company is developing rapidly so we need a professional candidate to cope with the increasing amount of internal and external communications,' administration and human resources manager Shirley Wong Hau-yeung said. The firm employs 1,800 people and was established in 1991. It listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange in 1997. The company sees huge growth potential in the mainland. Reporting to the corporate affairs manager on a daily basis, the appointee will handle and co-ordinate various activities. The candidate will work with a team of three people and with other departments as necessary. The multitasking and heavy interpersonal interaction may be a challenge to some. At least three years of relevant experience and a degree in communications or public relations are needed. Experience in a retail chain and a strong ability to handle media relations would be considered assets. A good command of Chinese and English is essential. Knowledge of other provincial dialects is highly desirable. Short-listed candidates will go through two rounds of interviews and a written test.
