NING PO College has just held its 22nd Annual Speech Day. The occasion was honoured by the presence of Miss Anna Wu, Member of the Legislative Council.
The School Supervisor, Mr Robert Wang, praised students for improving an already impressive academic record and expressed his thanks to the School Board Chairman, Dr Li Dak-sum, for his generous donation of $0.5 million to the school educational fund of the Ning Po Residents Association, which granted scholarships to 42 Form Seven graduates to help them with degree courses at local universities and tertiary institutions.
The school also owed its thanks to Mr Chen Din-hwa for his donation to update the school computer equipment.
Principal K.S. Liu reported with delight the continued implementation of the James Wong Scholarship programme, which allowed pupils to study in US, and the ''Improvement Award Scheme'' which were possible because of the unfailing support of the family ofthe late Mr T.Y. Wong.
The Principal announced with regret the retirement of Mr Tom Chung, the School Discipline Adviser who had given the school many years of loyalty and dedication. .
In her address to the assembly, Miss Anna Wu urged the students to participate actively in the community.
