School Shakespeare

Marymount Secondary School will stage its annual drama production, Shakespeare's romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing on February 9 and 10 at 7pm in the school auditorium.

The cast of 20 students is supported by a backstage crew of more than 50 girls from Form One to Six. The students are not just involved in acting, but directing, costume and set design.

The play will be performed in English with English and Chinese subtitles. Tickets costing HK$50 for students (HK$100 for adults) can be bought from the school office on 2572 8221 or on the door.

Plays aplenty

Theatre 4 All, a collection of plays performed by students, will be presented from February 5 to 10 at 7.30pm at the Fringe Club.

Presented by the Youth Arts Foundation, the programme will feature original and adapted works by local theatre directors - Lindsey McAlister, Candice Moore, Christina Jensen, Giles Burton, Katherine Cooper and Maria Wong.

Classical influence

Pop singer-songwriter Justin Lo Ting-wei will team up with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in a crossover concert.

The 30-year-old will perform his popular ballads and some classic English love songs. Gifted Chinese conductor Zhang Jiamin, the resident conductor of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, who frequently works with Chinese composer Tan Dun, will conduct.

The concert runs from February 8 to 11 at Hong Kong Coliseum. Tickets cost HK$100, HK$200 and HK$400 from Urbtix on 2734 9009.
