Japan's Crown Prince on invite list Beijing intends to invite Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito and his wife, Princess Masako, to the opening ceremony, state media claimed. Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wang Yi informed senior members of the government and Japan-China friendship organisations of China's intention. The Chinese government will make a formal invitation to the imperial couple after gauging Japan's response. Hotels sign lodging agreement Beijing's hotels have signed up to a Lodging Agreement and examination with the Beijing Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (Bocog) to ensure they meet environmental standards for 2008. Xiang Ping, vice-director of the Bocog Games Service Department, said the hotels which failed to meet the environmental standards would be struck off the list of Olympic- approved accommodation list. Two satellites to be launched China is to launch two satellites dedicated to radio and TV relay services for the Olympics this year, the China Satellite Communications Corporation (CSCC) said.
