A fast-growing company that has opened seven shops and food courts in Hong Kong and two stores in Taiwan in the past 10 years is continuing to expand its Asia-Pacific operations. To cope with this expansion, City'super is looking for a food lover with 10 years of experience in the catering or food and beverage industry, and at least five years of management experience, to be responsible for an important area of its business. Clarissa Leung, division manager of City'super's human resources division, said the company was more a mega-lifestyle speciality store than a supermarket. 'We offer true one-stop-shopping to today's busy urban professionals,' Ms Leung said. The company has 1,200 employees. A division manager is needed to oversee operations of the entire cooked deli division, including food courts and counters. The incumbent will be responsible for strategic planning, cost management, divisional sales, brand building and marketing aspects. This is a senior management position, so 200 staff including operations managers, head chef, buyers, supervisors, frontline and other general staff in the cooked deli division will report to this person. 'Having an analytical and dynamic approach to business is most important,' Ms Leung said. She said that having a network of contacts and the vision to see future opportunities in the industry would be considered great assets. The ideal candidate should be creative, willing to accept new challenges and have strong leadership and interpersonal skills. A job that pays you to eat should have resumes piling up. One highlight could be occasional travel to Taiwan and elsewhere to take part in various food fairs and tasting events, Ms Leung added.
