The sixth Asian Winter Games ended earlier this month, with the Hong Kong delegation returning home empty-handed.
The event was held from January 28-February 4 in Changchun .
Hong Kong sent 26 athletes in three sports to the showpiece. Twenty-three male athletes took part in ice hockey, while there was one male in figure skating and two females in short-track speed skating.
Hong Kong's Han Yueshuang defeated South Korea and Kazakhstan to claim seventh place in the women's 1,500-metre short-track speed skating event.
It was the city's best-ever result at the games. She also took part in the 500m and 1,000m events, coming in 10th and 13th, respectively.
'Han's results are actually not bad, because we are from a place without natural ice and snow and we lack the international-standard training facilities and locations,' short-track speed skating coach Lu Shuo said.
'Our results were only behind strong athletes from China, Japan and Korea. Besides, they sent out a much larger delegation to the Games than we did, and they are superior in terms of training locations, skills and tactics.'
