A bit of France has made its way to the heart of Tin Hau with the opening of the Savoye Bistro. Named after the Villa Savoye, designed by French architect Le Corbusier, the 50-seat restaurant feels airy and spacious because of the six-metre-high ceilings. There's also a small roof garden with outdoor seating for four. The menu includes fresh sea scallop and salmon carpaccio with mesclun salad and honey balsamic dressing (below right; HK$98), homemade smoked quail with au jus (HK$98), New Zealand rack of lamb with rainbow vegetables (below left; HK$178), pan-fried Californian seabass with gratin potatoes and fennel saffron creamy sauce (HK$188), risotto with porcini mushroom stuffing in bell pepper (HK$108), Mediterranean seafood soup with baby lobster, fresh mussels and baby calamari (HK$188) and ginger, lime or mocha souffle (HK$68). Savoye Bistro is at G/F, Hon Man Mansion, 9 Wing Hing Street, Tin Hau, tel: 2503 3222.
