SAP software to improve productivity at Towngas Hong Kong and China Gas (Towngas) is expanding deployment of business application software from Germany's SAP under a project to be implemented by systems integrator Accenture. Towngas, which handles millions of bills every month, will use SAP's consumption management system to establish a seamless operational flow to improve productivity and efficiency. TCL, Comtech join hands on multimedia handsets TCL Communication Technology Holdings, one of the mainland's leading mobile-telephone makers, is adopting an advanced multimedia platform from Nasdaq-listed Comtech Group on a range of affordable, Bluetooth-enabled handsets geared for the mainland and global markets. The two firms will collaborate on up to 17 million multimedia handsets - mostly marketed under the TCL and Alcatel brands - that TCL plans to ship this year. Financial terms were not given. The Comtech system, based on Bluetooth architecture from United States chip supplier Broadcom, allows rich multimedia capabilities such as the ability to stream high-quality audio to wireless stereo headsets. cosco shipyard to optimise design with intelliship Cosco Shipyard Group, a joint venture between China Ocean Shipping Co and Singapore's SembCorp Marine, will deploy the integrated marine enterprise software suite from Alabama-based Intergraph Corp to streamline its shipbuilding design process in the mainland. The group will initially use Intergraph's IntelliShip spatial information management program to optimise design, increase productivity and shorten project schedules at its five main subsidiary shipyards in Dalian, Nantong, Zhoushan, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Changhong bets on UGS in product innovation push Home appliances manufacturer Sichuan Changhong Electric expects to boost product innovation with the advanced data management program from Texas-based software firm UGS. Changhong has adopted for an undisclosed sum Teamcenter software, part of UGS' product lifecycle management system. 'I believe we can accelerate our time-to-market cycle and deliver world-class innovative products to our customers,' Changhong operations director Ren Zonggui said. ?
