John Moore will consult owner Stanley Ho Hung-sun for confirmation but his vote is clearly in favour of a trip to Dubai with runner-up Viva Pataca.
The 2006 Derby hero did everything bar get the full result in finishing second to Vengeance Of Rain, beaten a neck, after conceding the winner 31/2 lengths at the 400m.
With Vengeance Of Rain clocking a very fast 21.6 seconds for his final split, Viva Pataca has run 21.1 for his final 400m - world-class finishing speed for a stayer.
'There is no disgrace going down by a neck to a proven world champion,' Moore said. 'Naturally, I would have loved to win but I'm delighted with his performance.'
Moore said Dubai Racing Club representatives have told him Viva Pataca is 'on the reserve list' for the US$5 million Dubai Sheema Classic on World Cup night.
'Hopefully, this performance may tip the scales in our favour and they might issue us an invitation,' Moore said.
