Ambience: It depends on where you sit. The area called 'La Table' has tables and chairs, and is better for intimate conversations. The less formal red and black counter area - the same concept echoed at the other Ateliers (there are branches in Paris, Tokyo, London and New York) - has high stools at a U-shaped bar that looks into the open kitchen.
Price: It would be difficult to have dinner for less than $1,200, without wine and service charge. At lunch, there's a HK$550 plus 10 per cent 'menu club' of four courses. The eight-course 'menu decouverte' is HK$1,450 and has to be ordered by the entire table.
Pros: The food - it's excellent.
