Relatives and colleagues of a policeman killed in the Tsim Sha Tsui underpass shoot-out gathered at his grave yesterday to mark the first anniversary of his death.
Among them was Tsang Kwok-hang's girlfriend, Wong Yin-ying, who wore a solemn look as she arrived at Gallant Garden - the burial ground in Wo Hop Shek for public servants who die in the line of duty. She was accompanied by Tsang's younger brother, Tsang Kar-hang, and 12 of the dead officer's friends and colleagues.
Tsang, 33, and off-duty constable Tsui Po-ko were found dead in the underpass in Austin Road alongside a revolver that had been missing since constable Leung Shing-yan was shot dead in 2001. Tsang was buried with full force honours.
Ms Wong, who sported a black jacket and blue jeans, placed two bunches of roses and lilies on Tsang's grave - located just in front of Leung's grave.
She then knelt down and spread a tablecloth, carefully arranging Tsang's favourite garlic bread, red bean pudding, a piece of roasted pork and coffee.
Tsang's younger brother, colleagues and friends assisted in burning incense sticks and paper offerings.
They had no portrait of Tsang - family members had said earlier that they would erect a gravestone for the fallen constable only after the truth about the shoot-out is revealed.
