I REFER to the article headlined, ''Yacht club charts course for 100-year mark on horizon'' (South China Morning Post, December 27). I found it interesting.

However, I feel a mention should have been made in regard to my late husband, Geoffrey J. Edmonds, who died in August, 1992.
Geoff was made a Vice Patron on July 24, 1984 on his 71st birthday. He was also Commodore for three years.
Never a back-slapper, he was a quiet man who got on with the job. He did so many things for the Hong Kong Yacht Club, too numerous to relate.
There is a room at the club called the ''Geoff Edmonds' Room'' dedicated to his memory.

That, I believe, speaks for itself. This is the first time such a dedication has taken place.
