It might well be the School of Rock - or is it School that Rocks - listening to KGV gang Ricky Cheuk Ming-yin, Andrew Chambers and Rowan Varty all expound on why their alma mater is 'it' when it comes to sporting pursuits.
The King George V trio, who get another opportunity to delight their former schoolmates this weekend, are a glowing example of how local talent, properly nurtured, can make their mark on the big stage. And nothing comes bigger than the Hong Kong Sevens.
'KGV has a strong tradition for sports which plays a big role in the life of a student. There is a good mix of sports and academic endeavour,' says Cheuk, who is playing in his fifth Hong Kong Sevens.
The 24-year-old Cheuk, who has the honour of being the first Hong Kong-Chinese rugby player to score a try in the history of the tournament - in 2001 against the Arabian Gulf - is not wrong in highlighting the strong sporting ties that abound at KGV.
Cheuk, Chambers and Varty are the latest in a line of KGV pupils who have won international honours for Hong Kong in various sports.
Included in the list is Dermot Reeve, ex-England cricketer; brothers Tim, Robin and Chris Bredbury, who between them played football, rugby and hockey respectively; Davis Cup tennis players Mark Bailey and Colin Grant, and Noel Kennedy, who played lawn bowls.
