The beauty of the ex-Roxy Music frontman's dip into the Dylan back catalogue is that he doesn't simply add his own unique voice to the songs selected, he dusts them off and makes them his own.

Well, almost. There will never be any mistaking whose words Ferry is singing - and he hasn't exactly gone for the more obscure Dylan tracks. But his vocal smoothness and style help render the songs almost unrecognisable.

Ferry has worked Dylan over before - most memorably on 2002's Frantic, on which It's All Over Now Baby Blue was a standout - but even that pales in comparison with the reimaging here. He has said he had been mulling over such an exercise since the early 1970s.
