On Friday, there was a touch of Stanley, or maybe Shek Pik, about a TVB studio. The reason was a party to promote its Pearl channel serials for this year to advertisers. With Prison Break being the channel's current big hit, staff dressed like prison officers, while clients and guests were given black-and-white-striped prison garb. A horn frequently went off, as if a break-out was happening. In addition, head shots were taken and (washable) tattoos stuck on people's forearms. Furthermore, dinner was served on a tray. The only characters missing were scary-looking dudes threatening to stick you with a shiv for cigarettes. The night's highlight was a best-dressed prisoner fashion show (won by a person with tattoos not unlike the character Michael Scofield) and an Ugly Betty impersonation contest, hosted by artist Angela Tong Ying-ying. All in all, a fun night, unless you missed the station's shuttle bus. Then, you were stranded in a desolate part of Tseung Kwan O, far away from civilisation - not unlike Lost.
