A phone watch is not exactly a new concept: they have appeared in comic books for years.
Perhaps that is why SonyEricsson is adding a new twist to the concept. Instead of putting a phone inside a watch, they have transformed a watch into a remote control for your phone.
The Bluetooth Watch MBW-100 connects to your mobile wirelessly and acts as a second display for your phone. The watch vibrates when you get an incoming call or a text message, and shows you who is calling.
There's a button for answering and rejecting calls, and controls for accessing your phone's music function. The watch also vibrates when you move too far from your phone.
The watch is well designed and produced by the fashionable watch makers Fossil. But at 187.5 grams, it's heavier than most handsets on the market.
But even if you don't mind the weight, the MBW-100 leaves much to be desired.
