Carl Schultz, winemaker of Hartenberg Estate in South Africa, will host a Wine'n'Things dinner on Wednesday. The four-course dinner at Crown Wine Cellars includes Cape Malay lightly curried crab with rocket and sweet peppers, paired with the winery's Eleanor Chardonnay 2004, and a main course of ostrich with lychees, baby carrots and broccoli with rich gravy, served with the Stork Shiraz 2003 and Gravel Hill Shiraz 2000. The fish, prized for its high fat content, is available a la carte, in dishes such as grilled fatty tuna, broiled neck of tuna with soy sauce and tuna and scallion with vinegar mustard. There's also a bluefin tuna kaiseki menu that includes appetisers, soup, sashimi, simmered and grilled dishes, plus rice or noodles and dessert for HK$780 plus 10 per cent. Also celebrating the arrival of spring - with asparagus - are the Mistral at the InterContinental Grand Stanford in Tsim Sha Tsui and Di Vino restaurant in Central. Guests can taste dishes such as beef tartare (left), teppanyaki beef, goose liver and beef burger with grilled beef tenderloin, and air-dried beef with conchiglie pasta stuffed with spinach and cheese (above).
