Nina Wang Kung Yu-sum's funeral will include a who's who of politics and business in the city, with several prominent figures confirming they will help organise her farewell.

The sole beneficiary to the fortune of Wang, who was Asia's richest woman, is expected to meet lawyer Jonathan Midgley today to confirm details of the estate.

The meeting follows intense speculation over the identity of the beneficiary, which Mr Midgley says will be made public after the funeral.

While Wang, chairwoman of the Chinachem Group property empire, had stated her desire for a small funeral, her wish seems unlikely to be granted given the composition of the organising committee.

The Catholic funeral will be held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home in North Point on Wednesday. Hundreds are expected to attend, including most of the staff of Chinachem, where Wang remained popular until her death.

Legco president Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing chairman Ronald Arculli and Executive Council convenor and Hong Kong member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Leung Chun-ying have confirmed they are on the committee.

James Tien Pei-chun, leader of the Liberal Party leader and newly appointed head of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and Sino Land chairman Robert Ng Chee Siong will also play a part in the organisation.
