What is it? Tucked below Fitness First at Millennium Plaza in Central is the gym's Body Care centre. There are no rose petals and fancy nametags here - it's an all-over massage, with particular attention to the upper back and shoulders, but without the frills. However, the experience was very relaxing and much easier on the budget than your average spa. Is it just for sporty, fit people? Not at all - one of the biggest attractions is the simplicity of what's on offer. Your masseuse will ask what kind of pressure you like - hard, soft or medium - and will take it from there. You can bring along your own massage oil, too. Was it a pleasant experience? The pressure was just right and the technique was good - there were no sudden jolts or painful kneading. Having had two massages there, the overall experience does vary - the first therapist had a fantastic touch, whereas the second was more rigid. What are the surroundings like? The body care centre is fresh and simple, and the rooms have a pleasant calming effect. It doesn't have the Bali-style fittings and ambience of a spa, or the fluffy robes and slippers, but this is reflected in the price. The temperature of the room was fine and the lighting wasn't too stark. The relaxing music could have been a bit louder. Anything about it you didn't like? Getting through to book a massage can be a pain. Staff at the Fitness First counter weren't able to help when all the Body Care therapists were working, so it took a number of attempts to make a booking. Where is it, and how much is it?
