TINY aspiring commuters are creating a wave of demand for the products of Taiwan toy-maker TCV Industrial - shown being demonstrated by TCV president John Wu.
TCV's life-like cars - aimed at children aged three upwards - are on show at the Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, which opened yesterday.
Status-conscious youngsters are particularly keen on the company's Mercedes-Benz, off-road vehicles and racing models.
Mr Wu said the toys had some of the features of real cars, such as ignition keys, forward and reverse gears, a steering wheel and an accelerator.
For a real Hong Kong touch, the cars can incorporate a bleeping phone.
''Children like these toys as they are battery-operated and different from the usual tricycles,'' said Mr Wu.
