A multicultural corporate communications consultancy is looking for a finance manager with an international mindset to establish a new finance team in Hong Kong. The company is expanding its business in Asia and now requires someone on the ground in Hong Kong actively involved in managing the financial requirements of the Hong Kong and Beijing business. Candidates with four to five years of Big Four accountancy training and an additional three years of commercial experience should apply. 'This new opening is a great opportunity for a mid-management finance professional to take the next big jump,' said Gena Constantopoulos, the senior consultant with Robert Half International who is handling this search for its client. The appointee will report to the group finance director in London and they will manage two office managers - one in Hong Kong and the other in Beijing. They will also co-operate with the company's external accountancy firm to implement local policies and procedures. The goal will be to have full accounting and finance functions in-house and develop a finance team focused on Asian interests. 'There are good career development opportunities due to the company's growth in the region and because this is a new function being established locally,' Ms Constantopoulos said. The highlights of the role are also its challenges. The appointee will design and implement new systems, policies and procedures, and hire and train teams when more of the finance function is taken in-house.
