A taxi with a suspected brake fault rolled into a crowd, injuring nine people, after hitting two other taxis yesterday outside St Joseph's Church in Central. Eight women and a man, aged 29 to 48, were later released from Queen Mary Hospital after receiving treatment for limb wounds. At about 9am, the taxi driver, who had dropped off passengers at the church, was about to turn onto Garden Road. He said his brakes failed, causing his car to roll into the crowd after clipping another taxi. Police towed the faulty taxi away for examination.
