Top teenage tennis prodigy

Name: Kelvin Lam Siu-fai

School: Diocesan Boys' School

Grade: Form One

Sport: Tennis

Achievements: Kelvin is ranked number one in the boy's 14-and-under (B14U) tennis category in Hong Kong.

The 13-year-old also captured the B12U singles and B14U doubles titles at the 2007 Lions Hong Kong National Junior Tennis Championship two weeks ago. Last year, he was singles and doubles champion at the 2006 Junior series Grand Master 12 and Under.

Kelvin is currently representing Hong Kong in the World Junior Tennis Asia/Oceania Qualifying tournament in New Delhi.

Soundbite: 'Tennis is an exciting sport with lots of variations. I've been playing tennis for four years and practise it three hours every day,' said Kelvin.

'I like doubles more than singles. When two people play together, the pace is much faster and you have to

co-operate well.'

From his coach: 'Kelvin is a very strong tennis player. He has shown great improvement in the past few months. He has become even stronger and more forceful.' said coach Benny Lin. 'He's one of the best young players in Hong Kong, and I think he will continue to get good results next year.'

Ambitions: 'I want to keep playing tennis. Maybe one day I can play international tournaments and be a professional player like Michael Cheung.'
