Now that spring has arrived, it's time to trade in your winter fragrance for something light and easy. Many brands have scents based on citrus and floral notes, which can be layered for a subtle effect. Here are some scents new to the shelves. 1. Asprey's Purple Water (HK$550/50ml, HK$850/100ml) is a unisex scent inspired by the flowers of the Jacaranda tree and balanced with spicy undertones of vetiver root, pepper and musk. Available at Lane Crawford stores. 2. L'Occitane's Cherry Blossom eau de toilette (HK$380/100ml) is light enough for summer days. Based on the fragrant Japanese cherry blossom, it features base notes of rosewood and musk and top notes of cherry, freesia and blackcurrant. Available at L'Occitane stores. 3. Escada's Sunset Heat (HK$393/50ml) is a limited-edition fragrance that has fruity top notes of papaya, lemon, mango and pineapple, with a musk kick. Available at all Escada counters, including those at Sogo department store, Lane Crawford and Harvey Nichols. 4. Miller Harris' Figue Amere (HK$970/100ml) is inspired by the bitter, ripe green figs of Ibiza, which the company describes as a combination of 'fleshy fruit and astringent salt'. Other notes include bergamot, mandarin, cedar, amber and seamoss. Available at Lane Crawford. 5. Escentric 01 by Escentric Molecules (HK$980/100ml) comprises 65 per cent of aroma-chemical Iso E Super, with pink pepper, lime peel and orris. Available at Harvey Nichols. 6.
