Mr Justice Sears directed the jury to acquit Wang Ming-hsing, who was defended by Lawrence Lok, after he found the defendant to have no case to answer on one charge of robbery.

Wang, 31, originally denied an offence of handling stolen goods. But he changed his plea to guilty and the jury was directed to convict him on this charge.

He will be sentenced by the judge in the High Court on Monday.

During the trial, Crown Counsel Wayne Moultrie had called evidence that a gang of robbers broke into a Kwun Tong warehouse on January 31 last year, and made away with $2,571,177 worth of electronic components.

It was the Crown's case that Wang, who ran a similar business, received the goods after the holdup knowing that they were stolen property.
