Disabled woman claims insurer biased

A woman is suing insurer AIA under the Disability Discrimination Ordinance for refusing her life cover with an extra premium for hospital and health benefits, then offering her a revised plan including an extra premium but none of the benefits. Viola Wan Yim-mei, 37, who has an immune system disorder, seeks repayment of the extra premium, a declaration AIA committed discrimination, an order for it to provide the coverage originally proposed, damages and interest.
