Three Hong Kong tourists were slightly injured in a bus crash in the southern Taiwanese mountain resort of Alishan, police said yesterday. Leung King-yu, 27, Wong Wai-hon, 55, and Fang Po-ying, 50, were among 13 tourists from Hong Kong visiting Alishan when the bus crashed into a roadside electricity pole. 'The accident occurred at around 4.40pm and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment,' one officer said. He said the three tourists were in a stable condition after they received treatment at a hospital in Chiayi. The officer said the other tourists escaped injury but a Taiwanese guide, Hua Tung-ping, suffered a broken bone and concussion. Initial investigations showed that heavy fog, which reduced visibility to about 10 metres, was a factor in the accident, the officer said. The other tourists were taken to a hotel in Chiayi. It was not immediately known when they would return to Hong Kong.
