Claymore (TV)
Super female warriors kill shape-changing monsters called Yoma with a flick of their wrists in the new anime Claymore, currently being shown on Japan's NTV channel.
This fantasy-horror anime is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi. His previous work includes Undeadman and Angel Densetsu.
The anime version is produced by Madhouse Production who have brought a number of hit anime shows to the small screen, including Bomberman, NANA and the highly acclaimed Tokyo Godfathers.
This gruesome show is set in a fictitious medieval world where evil lurks in every corner and the Yoma feed on human organs.
A secret organisation has created an elite group of highly trained super soldiers called Claymores to fight and exterminate monsters.
These soldiers are a hybrid of humans and monsters, resulting in beings with stronger powers than the monsters.
