A MAN who is wanted by the United States to stand trial for drug offences yesterday appeared in Eastern Court.
At the request of the Crown, Magistrate Jonathan Acton-Bond remanded Chen Jui-fa in jail custody. He adjourned the case until March 11 for the Governor's order to proceed with the extradition hearing.
Chen, 46, a Thai national, is facing three charges including conspiracy to import, attempting to import, and distribution of heroin.
Senior Crown Counsel Roger McMeans said that the alleged offences occurred between late 1986 and September 1989.
