EVERY time I visit friends at Mei Foo, I have to struggle my way past a barrage of raucous hawkers at the Broadway Street MTR exit.

A walk to Wing On department store, which ordinarily takes two to five minutes in the afternoon, can take anything up to 15 minutes in the evening. The hawkers not only clutter up the footpath but also leave behind a lot of rubbish at the end of the day.
This has been going on for several years now, despite government talk of cracking down on them. It is an issue that not only annoys many residents in Mei Foo but probably also residents in other areas. The Government has to act now to stop the problem from worsening.
