Squash stars battle for glory
Hong Kong's top two squash players are all set to defend their titles at the Crocodile Hong Kong Closed Championships next week.
The draw for the prestigious tournament - launched more than 30 years ago - was announced at a press conference on Monday. It is organised by Hong Kong Squash and sponsored by Crocodile.
Hong Kong's leading players, including 11-time women's champion Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin and four-time men's title-holder Wong Wai-hang, will take part in the May 21-June 2 tournament at the Hong Kong Squash Centre.
Categories include the men's and women's singles and masters.
In the women's event, top seed Chiu will face Leung Shin-nga or Lee Lok-man on May 30. Second seed Christina Mak Pui-hin will take on the winner of the match between fifth seed Joey Chan Ho-ling and Chan Wing-hei.
In the men's section, top seed Wong will meet Lau Siu-nam in the second round on May 29, while second seed Dick Lau Siu-wai will come up against Glen Hitch or Alex Tancok.
