Cornflake Girl is back in force

Tori Amos's latest album American Doll Posse shows that the singer is still on her quest for originality, despite being in the music business for more than a decade.

Strong and inventive, meaningful but fun, the 23-track album is a worthy addition to your music library.

All the tracks are written by Amos. As well as being 'Tori', she performs as four other personas: Pip, Santa, Isabel and Clyde. They dress differently, have distinctive personalities and each have their own story to tell.

Each track is sung by a different girl. This brings a mix of sounds and a wide range of topics to the album.

In the first song Yo George, Amos expresses her dissatisfaction with President Bush and questions his policies: 'Where have we gone wrong, America?/ Is this just the madness of King George?'

There are also tracks about everyday romance. Big Wheel, one of the highlights, tells a modern love story set to piano rock music. The deep and haunting Red Code showcases Amos' powerful vocals.

With a blend of rock, pop and piano, her brilliant voice and top-notch song-writing, this album proves Amos has as much creativity as in her Cornflake Girl days.
