Olympic champions China will face the Dominican Republic, Italy and Poland in a FIVB 2007 World Grand Prix tournament at the Hong Kong Coliseum from August 10-12. Hong Kong Olympic Committee president Timothy Fok Tsun-ting called the event, boasting US$95,000 (HK$740,000) in prize money, 'an important warm-up for the Olympics'. The tournament will test a rule change to quicken the flow of the games. Substitution rules have been modified so any player can request a substitution with the use of paddles. Previously, the coach had to ring a bell, to signal a substitution.
