A hotel's club floor is a haven for weary businesspeople and VIPs. The rooms are more expensive, but they come with a specialised service where everyone knows your name - and your preferences.
The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has a newly renovated and expanded club lounge that opens in July. This is where club guests check in and out, and relax with complimentary drinks.
A service-minded individual with strong knowledge of front office and food and beverage operations is sought for the role of Club InterContinental manager.
The appointee will train and coach 10 staff to take care of guests and be in charge of the new lounge and all of the club floors.
'It is a very rewarding career, full of challenges and instant guest feedback. Gradually, the guests will recognise the person as a long-time friend, rather than a service agent,' said Alice Yeung, director of human resources.
Every day the appointee must ensure that rooms are set up to the brand standard, amenities are in place, and every club guest has a personalised greeting and service.
