A meeting of yogic minds, bodies, souls

CitySeen policy is to feature one bendy person a day. Yesterday it was Yogananth Andiappan, today it is 'Zen' in a bathrobe from Pure Fitness. Yoga has taken the weight of the world off Zen's shoulders - and suspended it above his head.

This weekend is the Evolution: Asia Yoga Conference, which involves 40 yoga masters giving 160 classes to 1,500 participants at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

There will also be lectures and a chance for teachers to perfect their skills, and a yoga bazaar involving 50 exhibitors from the natural healing, yoga and health sectors.

As the number of yoga studios in Hong Kong rose from six in 2002 to more than 50 last year, there should be quite a bit of interest.

Conference director Paveena Atipatha says: 'Yoga is at a pivotal point in Asia and we hope that Evolution can boost its growth through the region.'
