Limoncello to prove too strong at his pet trip

Limoncello was a rank failure at his last outing but it will be no surprise if the three-year-old turns it all around in the opening leg of Sunday's Triple Trio at Sha Tin after coming up with gate one.

With the TT not being won at last Sunday's fixture, the main prize on offer is expected to reach $13 million and, with a vital gear change, Limoncello can prove too strong in a race lacking depth.

The Tony Millard-trained gelding showed a win was imminent at his third start when finishing third in a three-way photo behind First Knight but he was a major disappointment last time when the blinkers were added and stepping to 1,600 metres for the first time.

He was ordered back to the trials last week and turned in a sound performance to finish second to Toffee, indicating he was back on song.

The London News gelding has the blinkers removed this time, will appreciate a return to 1,400m, should get the run of the race and only has to improve marginally on his effort two starts back to take plenty of beating. His main threat will come from Cheeky Lad, while others worth considering are Win For All, Deerfield, Lucky Danske and Happy Go Lago.

In the middle pin, it's hard to go past the improving Bravo Bravo on the back of an excellent last-start effort behind the rising star Warrior.

The David Hall-trained three-year-old was far from disgraced at his first start after missing the jump and settling a long way back before showing terrific improvement second-up.
